PreLiteracy.com: Mission

At PreLiteracy.com our Mission is simple, to improve the pre-reading and beginning reading skills of young children through providing materials and resources for parents, educational professionals, and speech-language pathologists. We will always offer the basics of our pre-literacy program for free on our site so that a parent, teacher or therapist can follow our guidelines and create a high quality program with the information provided.

Parents and teachers may use the information and picture cards to develop strong pre-literacy skills in their children. Further, speech-language pathologists may also use these speech cues in therapy to teach their clients sounds and help them use those sounds in words and sentences.

Our children are in trouble; we have a literacy crisis in the United States of America. To begin addressing this nationwide problem on a long-term basis, we need further improvements in beginning reading instruction for those most at risk of learning difficulties. We need more support for our wonderful teachers who work with these young children, and are charged with helping them to be ready for formal education. Please help get these resources into the hands of those who can use them with our youngest readers; our children thank you!
